Getting Around By Car 镇江思亿欧 无敌队 王婷

It is easy to underestimate distances and driving time in Norway, the longest country in Europe. From Kristiansand in the south, it will take about 30 hours to reach the town of Hammerfest in the north, for instance.

However, highways and roads in Norway are relatively free of traffic by international standards and well maintained. Norway has more than 70 years of experience in using road toll payments to finance the costs of bridges, tunnels, and roads. The main roads are the European roads (indicated with an “E” in front of the number), which connects several cities, regions, and countries.

Norway offers a large number of scenic drives. Virtually all roads (particularly in Fjord Norway, in the mountains, and in Northern Norway) have some beautiful parts, and 18 of them have been named Norwegian Scenic Routes.

Common for all these routes is their picturesque scenery, award-winning architecture, and tourist-friendly infrastructures such as rest stops and viewpoints. The routes cover 1,149 miles and are located along the west coast and the western fjords, in Northern Norway, and in the mountains of Eastern Norway and Southern Norway.
